Joanne Webber
Joanne Webber is a Christchurch based professional artist whose bold, iconic style makes her work instantly recognizable. Drawing inspiration from advertising, history, public and political affairs, and the natural world, Webber’s paintings balance sharp commentary with playful visual storytelling.
A graduate with a BA (Hons) in Art History, Philosophy of Art, and New Zealand History, Joanne brings a deep understanding of context and meaning to her practice. Her works often feature kiwiana icons and clever wordplay, using irony to reflect on contemporary culture in a distinctly New Zealand voice.
Webber’s art is defined by vivid colour, dynamic composition, and an eye for the unexpected. Alongside exhibiting widely across New Zealand, she also undertakes commissions and mural projects. Her paintings are held in private and public collections both in New Zealand and overseas.
